Music for Films ( for the [n]th time)

Here's two compositions I just found lying on my computer... these have nothing to do with film, but may give you an idea in my writing styles? I don't know...

The first is

This was written for the queens jubilee and is the first movement of a large chorale movement.. an a level composition in which I had to write a piece inspired by Handel's "The King Shall Rejoice" for king georges coronation :S

this second is a piano duet of variations I came up with all centred around the first theme.


Cash, I'm currently at uni and will be helping out some student film projects soon... although nothing going on at the moment as i'm trying to meet all my uni deadlines [img]smile.gif[/img] I'm also writing some demo stuff ready to send to a music production company who have had some small tv contracts

You need Reason 2 - It has orchestra sound banks, and a special sampler to play it with.

Hi Vlad... While the peices are good compositionaly, its really hard to judge how you would do music for film, becuase of the style they have... they ar every royal [img]biggrin.gif[/img] Which is good since thats what they were supposed to be... but since not very many people to that kind films it makes it hard to judge [img]smile.gif[/img]

Also, when you get an online portofolio be sure to have many different styles of music. Modern, classical, action, fantasy, crazy, corny etc.

One thing is writing music, but writing music for images is something else. Things become a collaboration, and ones music has to fit the point and mood of the film...

Hey Cash - just watched one of the Jumper teaser trailers (#2). I like it - very good work.
Christian's music is great too, it REALLY works well and brings the film to life. Congrats.

goody... you might want to take "Untamed" up on his offer, and score his films for the practice. Even if the end result isent used, he might let you use the clips with music on... I dunno...

Anyway... keep posting what you do, and offering your talents. Then im sure some short to score will appear

I've got a project which still needs a score! It's a very tough project to do though, because there are a few differences in the protagonists state of mind etc.

There's a rough version online, and the final version is currently being edited as we speak.

Here is the rough version:

Vegetarian Hamburger

It's in dutch, but there's only one dialogue in the beginning, and there are a few voice overs in the latter part. I don't think you'll need to know what is being said to understand it though.

Anyway, feel free to do anything you want on the track though. Hope you like it.
